As every year, on January 1st we received an increase in the minimum wage. Previously, the minimum wage for a full-time job was PLN 4,300 gross, but for a few days now it has been PLN 4,666 per month. In hourly terms, the rate has increased by PLN 2.4, the minimum wage for a person employed under a civil law contract is PLN 30.50.
What is more, from February the method of calculating the health insurance contribution for entrepreneurs will change. Until now, the minimum health insurance contribution for entrepreneurs was calculated based on the minimum wage. From February, the base will not be 100% but 75% of the minimum wage. In practice, the minimum contribution in January will be PLN 381.78 (9% of PLN 4,242), and in February PLN 314.96 (9% of PLN 3,499.50).
